Sepang 1 MotoGP test – Marc Marquez ended the three-day IRTA MotoGP test on the Sepang circuit in the lead. The two-time Top Class world champion lapped in a record time of 1:58.867 and he was the only rider to break the 59 minute barrier. The race simulation also went very well and for this reason rider #93 is satisfied with these three days. The word is up to him.

“To be honest when I saw my time I was surprised, like everyone else! In any case, I have to say that today the track was fast and everyone improved. I'm happy that I was able to do a good ride, but the most important thing is the fact that I felt very good on the bike, right from the start. We did a race simulation which went very well and was perhaps even more important than the time obtained in the morning. During the race simulation I tested a different mapping and we tried different things. The positive thing is that with the new bike we are already at the same level as 2014 and there is still a lot of room for improvement. Now I can't wait to get back here for the second test to see what progress we can make.”

I'm not surprised at all :( Honda did what it has done in recent years and took away another half a second, while the others... Yamaha and Ducati are respectively one year and 2 years behind...

In spite of the usual great thinkers who believe that Honda was no longer developable, that with 3 bikes there would be confusion... we have indeed seen...

Marquez's race simulation is nothing impressive when compared to that of Jorge Lorenzo, the problem is that it is very clear to me that it is Pedorsa's race simulation that determines Honda's real performance, just as it does on the flying lap. of Marquez but also that of Pedrosa...
And they say they still have margin, which should be even more worrying...
Yamaha still doesn't have seamless climbing and they took another half a second off the GIRO, and Yamaha still have to optimize the TC, it's impossible for these two things to give them the advantage they're missing from Honda, in short they will remain 2 less -3 tenths per lap at least.

Yamaha has managed to make a bike that maintains the rear tire better than last year, looking at the race simulations they keep excellent times with the tire degradation, the problem is that Honda has done the same and despite the fact that they turn even faster the tire holds up in the same way…

Ducati has no chance for now of winning races in stable dry conditions, the GP15 must allow a huge step forward in race pace, because once the soft is removed in qualifying the pace is a problem compared to the Hondas at least.
