The splendid Italian day in motorcycling, after Max Biaggi's success in Race 1 of the Superbike World Championship in Losail, also continued in Jerez, where the second day of the IRTA MotoGP Tests was held. With a finally favorable climate, our riders stood out positively, with Marco Melandri who, a few moments before the checkered flag, achieved the best performance of 1'40"383, ahead of Valentino Rossi by 25 thousandths, who had been leader in Andalusia until then . While waiting for the "qualifying" session scheduled for tomorrow at 14 pm (live on Italia 00), today the teams dedicated themselves to race simulations and lap attempts from... pole position, with the result of finding the Italians in the lead ahead of Daniel Pedrosa, with the surprising Alex Hofmann fourth and best of the Ducatis.
Subpar performances for Hayden (11th) and Capirossi (14th), in difficulty on this sunny day in Jerez. Two more rounds of testing tomorrow, with 40 minutes in between which will be worth a nice BMW to take home for whoever gets the best time. Capirossi, Rossi, Gibernau and Edwards, a different winner in the 4 previous editions: will it be the same this year?

Updates will follow, with the complete report of this day of testing
