MotoGP 2015 British GP FP2 – Jorge Lorenzo dictated the pace in the second free practice session of the MotoGP class at Silverstone, scene of the British Grand Prix, twelfth stage of the 2015 season.

The four-time world champion posted the best performance with a time of 2:02.338, just 33 thousandths ahead of his compatriot and reigning champion Marc Marquez, the fastest of the morning session.

Home rider Bradley Smith did well, third on the Team Tech 3 Yamaha. The Oxford rider is just 0.193s behind Lorenzo and precedes Dani Pedrosa's Honda by 42 thousandths.

The best Ducati is that of Andrea Dovizioso, fifth, while Andrea Iannone is eighth, preceded by the Espargarò brothers, with Aleix (Suzuki) ahead of Pol (Yamaha).

Difficult day for Valentino Rossi, who after the third time this morning fell back to tenth place, trailing his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo by almost a second. The nine-time world champion has the Honda of Briton Scott Redding ahead of him.

A difficult situation for the Pesaro rider, who will have to try to recover tomorrow so as not to lose ground ahead of the race, which sees Lorenzo and Marquez as favourites.

Good placing for Danilo Petrucci, who confirms eleventh place in the morning session. The Team Pramac Ducati rider is still ahead of Maverick Vinales' Suzuki.

Lorenzo Marquez I think also Pedrosa and perhaps Rossi too, they didn't put on a new tire at the end of the session to make the time.

Smith did it, the strange thing is that he managed to do a very fast lap, then he had to slow down, but then he was able to push very hard again even though I don't think he improved.

Ducati with the Soft on the rear seems to have only one good lap, but the others with the Mediums also can do two laps but only manage to exploit the tire in one.

Lorenzo has improved a lot, Marquez a little less, but he seems to be even better at pace than Jorge, even if by very little.

Rossi and his team must have made a mistake with the setting, to improve T3 they sacrificed a lot in T1, T2 and T4, they will have to look for a compromise, because in this way they gain a lot in three sectors and still lose a tenth in T3.
