MotoGP Silverstone Team Tech 3 – Terrible moments were experienced yesterday morning during the warm up of the MotoGP class. During the first lap, as soon as he left the pit lane, Jonas Folger, after traveling the long straight leading to the Stowe curve (with a maximum speed of 328 km/h), realized that he was left without brakes.

The Team Tech 3 rookie tried to "clamp" three times and then, using the rear brake, he literally "launched" himself from his Yamaha M1 to avoid much worse consequences. An act of courage by the former rider of the Moto3 and Moto2 classes who "rewarded" him, given that the motorbike, after having pirouetted several times in the air, landed well beyond the air-fence.

Folger was later declared "unfit", given that he had suffered a concussion. The "hot" pilot felt quite well, but as the hours passed the consequences of the terrible bang made themselves felt.

The Speedweek.com website reports how the brakes on Folger's bike were changed before the warm up and that the rider tested them on leaving the pits and had a positive response.

“At the exit of the pits I took hold of the brake twice, and it seemed fine. Then, before Stowe braking, suddenly there was nothing. I tried three times!”

A meeting was therefore decided between Yamaha, Brembo and the team to understand the origins of the problem, which apparently also occurred at the Red Bull Ring.
