At the end of the first day of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Dovizioso achieved the fourth fastest time in the ranking. A promising start in view of the race even if the bad weather prevented the rider from Forlì from trying some important changes that he wanted to try.
“The track this morning was very slippery but I was happy to finish fourth and my lap time was fast and competitive. Towards the end of the session I was able to go a little faster, even with the rear tire having already done a lot of laps, which is a promising start to the weekend. I wanted to try some major changes this afternoon but it started raining before the start so we couldn't do the work we had planned.
Conditions were mixed, and it wasn't safe to go out and take risks; We'll wait until tomorrow to test the changes."
