MotoGP Sachsenring: Marquez also takes the Warm Up, Rossi is 4th
Two Hondas in the lead and two Yamahas chasing, the Ducatis in difficulty
MotoGP 2015 German GP Warm Up – A very determined Marc Marquez achieved the best time in the Warm Up of the MotoGP class at the Sachsenring, scene of the German Grand Prix, ninth stage and turning point of the 2015 world championship.
The poleman dominated the session, lapping in 1:21.322, a time 0.219s better than that set by his team-mate Dani Pedrosa. Third time for Jorge Lorenzo's Yamaha, more than half a second off the top. Team-mate Valentino Rossi follows him at 0.150s, leading the overall standings with a 10-point advantage over the Majorcan.
The Hondas seem unapproachable at the moment, but the race will be long, 30 laps and the tires will play a fundamental role. In fifth position we find the Honda of Cal Crutchlow, preceding the Yamahas of Team Tech 3 of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargarò and the Suzuki of Aleix Espargarò, here on the track with the 30th anniversary livery of the GSX-R.
Closing out the Top Ten are the British Scott Redding and the first Ducati, that of the Colombian Yonny Hernandez, who rides last year's GP14.2. The Colombian precedes the GP15s of Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso, who in turn is ahead of the GP14 of Danilo Petrucci.
The positive moment of Alex de Angelis continues, riding the Iodaracing ART, he closes this warm up just 72 thousandths behind Alvaro Bautista's Aprilia RS-GP.
