MotoGP Sachsenring Day 1: Vinales, “We're not there yet in the wet”
Yamaha's #25 is very fast in the dry, but fails in the wet
German GP Yamaha MotoGP – First day of two-sided free practice at the Sachsenring for Maverick Vinales. The Yamaha Spaniard was very fast in the dry (2nd time), while in the wet he didn't go beyond twentieth position, 1.902s from the top. Here's what #25 had to say after the rehearsal.
“The bike doesn't work in the wet. We have to understand what's happening, I have no traction and we have to work on it to make a step tomorrow. It could be an electronics problem and tomorrow we will try other settings to improve the situation – said Maverick Vinales – The Yamaha is a bike that has always performed well in the wet and we can't understand why it is so difficult to ride. It's not just my problem, Valentino (Rossi, ed.) also didn't go as fast as usual. We have problems and we need to solve them.”
