MotoGP Qatar, Free Practice 1: Andrea Iannone “At the beginning I felt lost on this track with this bike, but I'm confident for tomorrow”

Andrea Iannone he closed the first free practice session in Qatar in 12th place, 1.8 seconds behind the top and behind the two Ducatis of Dovizioso and Hayden but just ahead of his team-mate Spies. The Pramac team rider took to the track with the aim of doing as many laps as possible with the same set of tyres, rather than stopping for any small adjustments, gaining confidence with the track and the bike by increasing his pace from lap to lap. In conclusion, the feeling was positive and tomorrow will be the starting point for further improvement

“Immediately after the first lap I had to stop because we had a small problem with the gear lever – said Andrea Iannone – but the guys were very quick to get the bike back together and so I was able to continue without wasting too much time. I have absolutely new sensations and I feel a little lost on this track on this bike. In the first laps and during the first part of the session I made a lot of "straight" because I couldn't identify the right point for braking, I'm happy anyway and tomorrow I hope to be able to improve."
