The MotoGP riders met on the slopes of Mount Titano. Doing the honors this morning was Alex De Angelis, the rider of the San Carlo Gresini team who lives in San Marino as a citizen. Together with Gabor Talmacsi, Marco Melandri, Alex Baldolini, Colin Edwards and Randy De Puniet, the San Marino man attempted to climb the cliff that so characterizes the oldest Republic in the world. With the help of the boys from the San Marino Alpine Group, the pilots first made a descent from the coast, and then tried their hand at climbing, all in the splendid scenery of the Second Tower.

De Angelis and colleagues then headed to San Patrignano where waiting for them were the kids who live in the recovery community for drug addicts founded in 1978 by Vincenzo Muccioli. The riders then visited the winery in the community and the riding school.

The last part of the event included a meeting with the children of the community, with whom the pilots posed for a photo shoot.

The 25-year-old from San Marino then moved to the Misano World Circuit for the usual Thursday press conference.

De Angelis' commitment this evening is all for solidarity. In fact, he will be in Porto Verde on the occasion of DediKato, the talk-show and charity auction in memory of Daijiro Kato, a driver who passed away in 2003 on the Suzuka circuit.

Now that the side events are over, the white-blue driver will be able to concentrate on competing in his home GP as best as possible. Friends, relatives and the official Fan Club are ready to support him and give him the energy needed to give his best on the Misano World Circuit track.
