This year Valentino Rossi will start for the first time in six years no longer as reigning champion of the premier class. The November weekend of the GP of the Valencian Community in fact established, as you will all remember, Nicky Hayden as the 2006 MotoGP world champion. From that moment on, Rossi worked hard to be able to immediately take back the world championship crown and in the winter tests he made sparks with his Yamaha M1 800cc. Last in chronological order was the best time in Jerez de la Frontera which allowed him to win the BMW Z4 up for grabs. A Rossi therefore more motivated than ever: putting aside thoughts of the four wheels (F1 in the lead) the invincible driver we all know seems to have returned.

“After this great test in Jerez, we are heading towards the first race confident and satisfied”, says Valentino Rossi. “Last year we had some problems during the last test so we arrived at the first race worried, but more than anything Jerez showed that we are in a very different situation compared to last year and confirms the excellent work that we did over the winter with the new M1. Now the time has finally come for the first race and we will see if all the work we have done will pay off. After what happened last year we are all fired up and motivated and our goal is simple: to win! I really like the Qatar circuit, it's fast and fun and I've already won twice here. Of course it is quite hot and there is dirt on the track so tire choice will be very important, especially with the new rules. The other key factor will be fuel consumption, this year I think everyone is worried about this but we are all in the same boat. Dani Pedrosa seemed the most consistent in testing but I think Nicky Hayden, Loris Capirossi and my teammate Colin Edwards will also be able to fight for the title."
