Casey Stoner arrives in Indianapolis, the historic US track famous for the 500 miles and the scene of the fourteenth stage of the 2008 world championship, aware that the last races have not given him what he sowed in testing. The Australian from Ducati, reigning MotoGP champion, has in fact crashed in the last 3 races, collecting only 20 points (at Laguna Seca) out of the 75 available. Now that reconfirmation as champion is further away, Stoner only thinks of doing well in the remaining 5 races. He has the microphone.

“Clearly I'm not happy with the result of the last few races. We showed that we were always very fast, but it was obviously not enough. In any case, I am aware that I have a great team that supports me and an excellent bike with which I have a fantastic feeling. I will try to work on this to have fun in the last races, which are run on tracks that I really like. Later I will also have to think about the scaphoid fracture which was treated in 2003 but which is causing problems again. For the moment I have to live with it, but we are evaluating together with the doctors what to do for the future. I can't wait to return to America and race at Indianapolis, a track unknown to everyone, where however I am convinced that the bike and tires will work as well as they have in all the recent races."
