MotoGP: Phillip Island will host the Top Class for another ten years
Superbike will also race on the Australian track until at least 2026
Australian GP Phillip Island – The Phillip Island circuit is one of the most loved by riders, as well as being one of the most beautiful and technical in the entire world championship. The Australian track will host MotoGP and Superbike for another 10 years. The news was given by Giovanni Eren, Australian Minister of Tourism and Major Events.
“These dates are key to our calendar and Phillip Island will remain at the heart of motorcycle racing for many years to come,” he said. “Thousands of motorsport fans from around the world descend on Phillip Island every year for two highly spectacular, adrenaline-pumping and well-attended events, and they serve as an attraction for other tourists to our region.” he added Harriet Shing, governor of eastern Victoria.
Finally, Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna, spoke: “The Australian Grand Prix and the FIM Superbike World Championship have an important history at Phillip Island. I am pleased that the Victorian Government has decided to maintain this mutually beneficial partnership.”
