MotoGP – Phillip Island – Yamaha tests completed, Rossi is the fastest

Team Gauloises Yamaha MotoGP riders Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards finished the 3-day test today on the Phillip Island track, Australia. Both improved slightly on yesterday's performances by taking advantage of the sunny and windy weather. However, the rain of the last two days made the grip of the track less than ideal.

Rossi, who completed 83 laps, was the fastest with 1'30.44 and preceded his teammate Edwards who achieved a best performance of 1'30.50. As mentioned, the times improved compared to yesterday but the 1'29.68 recorded here 3 weeks ago remained distant.

Also on track were the Team Fortuna Yamahas of Toni Elias and Ruben Xaus who achieved 1'31.85 (73 laps) and 1'32.61 (118 laps) respectively.

Next appointment at the Irta tests in Barcelona where all the official MotoGP teams will be present.
