Valentino Rossi's qualifying sessions to forget at Phillip Island, scene of the Australian Grand Prix. The Ducati rider from Pesaro finished in 13th place, more than two seconds behind Casey Stoner's pole position. A result that speaks for itself and does not need other words.

“Before arriving here we expected to go much better than this, also considering that we are at Phillip Island, a track where I have always been strong, like the Ducati – said Valentino Rossi – Instead, even today I struggled a lot to ride and I was very slow. It's a real shame, I'm very sorry, evidently we weren't able to resolve the problems we had since the first round. We will try to make some other small changes in the warm-up tomorrow but although we will certainly try to do better than this, I expect a very demanding race.”

what a disappointment Rossi, at least she didn't use the fact that her finger hurts as an excuse. In the end, all these useless changes that Rossi demanded of his Ducati were of no use, in fact they made the situation even worse and the fact that Nicky did better than him proves it once again. It would be better for Ducati to look for a rider capable of developing the bike because at least this year he hasn't got one right in terms of development indications.
go ducati byeeeeeee and happy Saturday everyone

…. of course taking 1.2 sec from Nicky…..is really sad….

At this point...goodbye Ducati, it would be better!

At this point we can only hope and wait for 2012 to see a performing Valentino otherwise I think it's over...

Guys, I'm a Rossi fan and at this point in the season I have to say that it was a failure. I followed everything: tests, races, qualifying etc etc and since the start of the season I have never seen Rossi being able to annoy the "top riders". ... The feeling between bike and rider was never born despite the many changes made and Valentino's great work. (even if I think that the GP 11.1 is really superior to the GP 11 at the start of the season) This "hybrid" chassis solves almost nothing , the hope is that for 2012 it will be completely aluminum and that the nature of the engine will be revised (Rossi has just said that Preziosi is working on it to make it more adaptable to the 2012 chassis)... these two would perhaps be great changes! It takes time…

just watch valentino ride to understand that he isn't having fun and isn't comfortable...he looks like he's on a minibike

the stopwatch is the best comment.
    excuses are zero.

  • bibo said:

    don't you feel comfortable??
Does it look like it's on a minibike?
I went there on a minibike and I saw people six feet tall riding faster than me..
    all excuses
I'm happy that Valentino didn't succeed just because he always denigrated Stoner
    I'm very sorry about Ducati
the reality is that only stoners know how to ride this bike
    the others are just excuses
and I repeat, go for Ducati, an expression of Italian technology !!!!!!!!

It's not the motorbike that's wrong but his head, whatever they do to him is useless now... he's scared he doesn't risk throwing the oars in the boat anymore and it shows very well, if I were in Ducati I'd get the contract money back + everything that made him spend on fife modifications and what to take 2 sec for. from the first and finish behind 12 other riders... shame on you, 9 times world champion.

  • house said:

Shame on you Ducati, shame on you because you are not able to create a vehicle capable of bending a message to precious people.. don't be precious and give Rossi what he wants, chassis, engine, suspension, etc.. you are in a wheelchair, not on a motorbike.. listen to your riders and screw them the supporting engine was a failure since it was born... you only had top class champions like rossi baylis capirossi gibernau melandri hayden etc do we want to blame these riders or your bike?

  • roberto said:

Dovizioso could have, but he's already married... who's left? De Puniet? Hopkins? Bayliss? Gibernau? Go Rossi, do all the necessary tests in the championship as there aren't many more on the 1000s compared to the competition, perhaps a strategy to be ready in 2012, then we'll see. You don't have to prove anything to anyone, history is written. Long live Ducati, long live Valentino, well done Stoner

How times change... and let's hope for 2012 too.
What is certain is that if the GP11 had been whipped and pushed to its limits at least once (the first, so to speak), perhaps something would have been understood.
Valentino, however, immediately gave up, invoking the GP11.1 which in his words "...the other one was at the end of development, this one has more potential and I feel it's mine...".
Let's face it, he wants the easy bike, the Japanese scooter bike.
On the other hand, in Ducati I want a humble rider who embraces the cause like Capirossi did at the time (remember the almost title in 2006 that only Gibernau took away...) and Stoner afterwards.
Except then treat Stoner like a fish in the face.
    Good choice!

how sad guys we would never have imagined a situation like this and yet it's like this now the fault lies with the engine poor people those at Ducati no longer know what to invent. Ducati's only fault is that they own the bikes... I like to make them different and not the usual red Japs, cut your finger and give it gas

  • Gianni said:

But if Valentino likes the Yamaha style bike, why do we have to say that he wants the easy bike??? you make me laugh, you go with the easy motogp... In my opinion the ducati is too particular in its setup and for now only one has been able to make it go well, all the others have failed even though they weren't unknown... so credit to the kangaroo but let's not send Valentino to the gallows please...

In my opinion, too many discussions are made based on the support of the rider or the bike. I simply say that Rossi remains a phenomenon because 9 world championships are 9 world championships, let's not forget him for a year that went badly. Having said that, one thing has happened this year, no rider is omnipotent, no rider is an unbeatable super man, because even Rossi who won with any bike, this year not only didn't win but he made a miserable podium and taken many, many seconds of pay (as he always said.....) from various riders (even Hayden now seems to surpass him). In my opinion, Rossi can still win the world championship, perhaps next year, he is still a very strong driver (you don't forget how to drive in the space of 1 year), but no one wins alone in the world of motors, I hope that by now many have understood. However, he doesn't know how to ride this bike, and he's not the only one. Maybe with the 1000 the story will change ;-)

  • stilix said:

We always go back to the same old story, only Stoner was riding the red one, but Ducati did badly by sending away Capirossi who in 2007, at least, had achieved a few podiums and also a "lucky" victory. If he had stayed perhaps they would have made some changes to the bike to make it more rideable. I don't know if Vale was right to twist the bike like that. If he had stayed on the GP11 he would probably be in the top five now, there's no way he would be taking pay from Hayden, with all due respect to him.

To say that the Ducati is a wheelchair is a shame
dear house you said something very serious
Maybe it's your pilot that needs wheels, not the Ducati
    training wheels on bicycles,
they wear them to teach children balance
try to mount them yourself, it's better
maybe you will shoot less c………..

I remain a Rossi fan, but I have to say well done Stoner! When he commented: I didn't do anything different from the previous lap but I crashed,,, he was made fun of by everyone, now with the bike and the winning team his real value comes out!
I don't think he will be able to win everything that the legendary Rossi won but he must be recognized as a brilliant and very fast rider, hats off to him; the strongest driver and team are winning the world championship, everything else is just talk.
This year it went like this, but it's easy to change the values on the field in the world championship, it's enough to find the right combination between mechanical vehicle and driver; we'll see next time!
I continue to cheer for the driver I loved seeing drive for years, GO VALEEE GOOOOOOO!!!

    hi tiziano
I gave you a positive vote because you spoke like a sportsman
    in moto gp cheering stoner
when there was I supported Biaggi
and I must say that I was critical of his attitudes
for me the most beautiful thing is seeing three riders get on the podium with a smile and mutual respect
on the track with a knife between their teeth to beat each other up then out as friends as before
    :-)

there's a nice interview with stoner!!!!!

let's exclude house who doesn't understand anything who keeps saying that bayliss has never won on ducati... who doesn't know that it's the house in the world that has won the most races... on production motorbikes... who hates ducati just because he can't afford it... and he doesn't know that they don't even pick up the one he has at the flea market... but to say that the engine is a failure is even more serious... it's the same engine... that is, the engine that last year ran with stoneer in 1.2866 about half a second less than this year with Honda..but what are you talking about..?

  • Walter said:

Rossi now drives slower than a pensioner!
it is very clear that he is only trying to get to the end of the season and respect the contract so as not to lose the expected money...
what a terrible end for a 9-time world champion!

  • amateur said:

I also support Andrea G.... Ducati must have riders who espouse the Ducati cause... and not vice versa... the philosophy cannot be changed... it is thanks to this that our motorbikes today, as in the past, have value even after ten years... if we destroy Ducati craftsmanship we destroy our values..we don't win..be patient we are young in the prototypes in 8 years we have won a world championship Honda has not done better from 2005 to today that is in the 7th year it will win the second for a motorbike so much vaunted it's not that it's the best..because Ducati should cry because it wins overwhelmingly in all the recognized series motorcycle categories...www Italy Long live Ducati and go Valentino, next year it will be better..
