Hector Barberà MotoGP 2016 Free Practice Phillip Island Team Ducati – Hector Barberà he closed the first day of free practice at Phillip Isalnd only in 18th place at the end of a day heavily affected by rain. The Spaniard, who here as in Motegi, races in place of the injured Andrea Iannone, was able to complete nineteen laps in the morning session and achieved a time of 1'44”792. In the afternoon the Valencian driver was the fastest of the six riders on track, but he was unable to improve his time and therefore ended the day in eighteenth position.

“Today was a complicated day – said Hector Barberà – because this morning we had to make some changes to the bike as it was the first time I had ridden the 2016 Desmosedici GP on water. Unfortunately in the afternoon I was able to do very little laps due to the weather conditions which made the track practically impassable and therefore I only managed to do three laps. Here at Phillip Island I once again have an excellent bike and a great team at my disposal and therefore the conditions are there to be able to obtain a good result, but the conditions put us in a bit of difficulty, given that I have the handicap of not knowing the new bike is still good.”
