MotoGP Phillip Island, Free Practice: Dani Pedrosa “It's a shame we didn't improve in the afternoon”

Dani Pedrosa is not satisfied with the first day of testing for the Australian Grand Prix, the sixteenth and third last stage of the 2011 world championship. In the afternoon, the Spanish Repsol Honda Team rider was unable to improve on the times set in the morning. The word is up to him.

“In the morning I started slowly just to find the right feeling with the track and we made a decent time; in the afternoon, however, I struggled a lot with rear grip, the bike was spinning a lot and we weren't able to resolve the problem during the session. The fact that my lap times are practically the same as in the morning is a sign that something is wrong. It's a shame because maybe tomorrow the weather won't be as nice as today, maybe it will be colder, but I trust my team and I hope we can improve. The track is very bumpy, much more so than last year, which makes things even more difficult. There are many places where the wheels don't touch the ground. In any case, we will try to make some changes and I will do my best to improve my riding and see what we can do tomorrow.”
