MotoGP – Phillip Island Day 1 – Toni Elias: "It was a complicated day"
A decidedly complicated day for Toni Elias, who closed the first free practice session at Phillip Island with the seventeenth time. Complications due not only to the alternation of rain/sun which wet and dried the track unevenly, but also to a weight distribution problem, which took away time to work on other aspects. Naturally Toni is not happy with how today went and he is hoping for a dry day tomorrow to be able to get back to work ahead of Sunday's race. He has the microphone.
“It was a complicated day. The weather conditions were a real puzzle: rain, sun and more rain. Due to the strong wind the track dried quickly, but not evenly. Unfortunately the weather didn't help us with the set-up of the bike. I encountered difficulties with excessive transfer to the front, and there is also a problem getting the rear tire up to temperature. I'm not happy, I hope tomorrow will be dry so I can continue working."
