MotoGP – Phillip Island Day 1 – Melandri: "I'm quite happy"

Second time for Marco Melandri today at Phillip Island, who finds the conditions best suited to his Honda RC212V and his riding style on this circuit. “I'm quite happy with this first day. Due to its characteristics, this seems like a circuit more suited to our bike and my riding style. There are no long braking sections, here you have to drive cleanly and I like that. The bike is easy to handle and works well. I have a good feeling in both the wet and the dry, but we still need to improve because I am convinced that the race pace will be faster tomorrow. I'm confident, I'm just hoping for stable weather conditions because it would have been really difficult to race today. The wind was strong and the conditions changed corner after corner and several times in the same practice session.”
