Andrea Dovizioso MotoGP Phillip Island Team Ducati – Andrea Dovizioso He finished qualifying at Phillip Island only in 9th place at the end of a Q2 conditioned by a tire problem. The driver from Forlì had been among the protagonists of these testing sessions and for the qualifying session he wanted to get at least the second row, but his project was wrecked due to the pressure in the rear tire. Dovi went out for the final run but the rear tire had a pressure problem and so he wasn't able to improve, a real shame.

“It's a shame because I had an excellent time with the intermediates – said Andrea Dovizioso – I had made the bike change at the right time and then starting in the second row at least would have been important, but unfortunately I had a problem with the rear tire and I had to return, aborting the final lap, it seems that the tire pressure went down in the lap went out and in the two laps I did I wasn't able to bring it back up. It's a shame, we almost never worked in these days, they were crazy conditions, tomorrow the warm up will be fundamental, unfortunately we won't start from the front but let's see if we can recover"
