MotoGP: No Production Racer for Stoner in Sugo, only comparative tests 2013 – 2014
The Australian "All in all it was a good test"
Casey Stoner concluded the three days of testing in Sugo today. However, the two-time MotoGP world champion did not work on the new RCV1000R Production Racer, but concentrated on comparison tests between the 213 and 2013 versions of the RC2014V. Instead, test rider Takumi Takahashi took to the track with the Production Racer.
Stoner said he was quite satisfied with the test, especially because the rain did not interrupt the test as it did in Motegi, but came later. He tried both new engine and chassis details, he has the say.
“It was a pretty positive three days and we spent a lot of time on the track considering it got dark and cold quite quickly! We mainly dealt with comparing the two 213 and 2013 RC2014Vs. Both have some very positive aspects and we tried to understand them better. It was difficult to find a good feeling here in Sugo, in fact we had never tried here before and it was the first time I had driven there. All in all it was a good test and for the first time we were not interrupted by rain!”
