Gp Mugello MotoGP Honda HRC Day 1 – Dani Pedrosa closed the first day of free practice, on the Mugello circuit, with the seventh fastest time in the combined time classification.

The Spaniard, who currently occupies second position in the world rankings, spent the day working on the set up and trying to gain as much confidence as possible with the "new" tires in view of the Italian Grand Prix.

These are the words of Dani Pedrosa: “Today we worked to adapt the bike's set-up to the track and to the new front tyres. We struggled a bit with the grip, but still, we were able to test some things on the bike and also work on the tires. Our pace was consistent which is good and we gathered some information which we will use tomorrow to further improve the feeling and lap times. We will try to be fast tomorrow in FP3 because it is important for qualifying and in FP4 we will work more on race pace."
