MotoGP – Motegi QP1 – Some problems for Vermeulen

Chris Vermeulen, after the podium in his home race, wants to repeat himself at Motegi. On a track that he had never seen before he tried to do well, but in qualifying he encountered a few too many difficulties which did not allow him to place in the top positions.

“We have made a lot of progress since yesterday and above all I worked well. I feel at home on this circuit and we went very fast all the time. With the qualifying tires I lost a lot of time in the first sector and this is something I need to work on all night and in the warm-up. I qualified on the fourth row before John, which isn't bad as it's my first time here. We still have a lot of work to do for the race, but I think it's doable. The bike works really well, and I think we will be able to do well"
