MotoGP Motegi: Hector Barberà “Special day, this bike is really strong”

Hector Barberà MotoGP 2016 Free Practice Motegi Team Ducati – Hector Barberà he closed his first day aboard the official Ducati with the 14th time, 1.7 seconds from the top. The Spaniard, who replaces the unlucky Andrea Iannone at Motegi, rode a 2016 Desmosedici GP for the first time, a totally different bike from the Ducati SAT that he rides with the Avintia team. The first approach was positive, but then he was unable to find the best feeling with the tyres, even if he was pleasantly surprised by the power of the bike, which, as he himself stated, runs really fast.

“Today was a very special day for me – said Hector Barberà – because I got on the 2016 Desmosedici GP for the first time, which I will ride next year. At the beginning I felt good, but when I started using the harder front tire I lost a bit of feeling and I was no longer able to push hard. We did several tests with the setting and towards the end of FP2 I found the feeling again, but the most important thing is that I feel good with the bike, which is really strong as Dovi demonstrated today. However, today we have accumulated a lot of information that will allow us to work well tomorrow"
