Anthony West, at the end of the day of free practice, set the eighth best time. The difficulties of the morning, during which the rider struggled to find the right feeling with the bike, suddenly disappeared in the afternoon and, thanks to greater grip, the Australian was able to lap following the best trajectories and making frightening bends.

“This morning I wasn't very comfortable but suddenly, this afternoon, everything worked well on the bike – confessed the pilot – I struggled in the first session due to the grip of the rear tyre, which lifted and slipped everywhere, then this afternoon it was so different: only thanks to better grip I could lean more in the corners and choose a better line. Essentially, I just felt more comfortable on the bike. It was really much easier to ride and go faster. On a bend, my elbow hit the asphalt once or twice and that had never happened to me before! It was a great step forward and the times prove it.”
