Marco Melandri is confident about his participation in the next San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix which will take place on the Misano Adriatico track. The Team Honda Gresini rider (who next year will compete on the official Ducati in place of Loris Capirossi) had in fact had to miss the Czech Republic GP due to a herniated disc between C5 and C6 but the latest checks have highlighted a recourse thereof. Professor Carlo Bollini, neurological consultant at the Clinica Mobile, ruled out any surgical intervention, prescribing medical therapy and rest. Next week, Melandri will resume his physiotherapy training.

“The choice not to race in Brno turned out to be positive and intelligent – confirmed the Dr. Costa - there are in fact signs of regression of this small hernia. Now the therapy is to conclude this week in absolute rest and then begin the medical and physiotherapy treatments in view of the Misano race. If everything goes well, Marco will be able to present himself in good condition."

“The journey back from Brno went well - he added Melandri - the situation is quite stable. I am happy with the good news received today in the medical consultation between Dr. Costa and Dr. Bollini. I will take a few more days of complete rest to improve the progress of this hernia to be fully prepared for Misano."
