MotoGP: Marco Simoncelli “The goal is the podium in Aragon”

Marco Simoncelli, after the good race held at home in Misano, is ready to face the Aragon Grand Prix, the fourteenth stage of the 2011 world championship. The Team Gresini rider is ready to pick up what he was unable to do in the first part of the season. The word is up to him.

“The last lap at Misano was beautiful! I had a lot of fun, with Dovizioso and Spies we overtook each other two, three times and having won the challenge thrilled me and I think I gave a nice gift to my fans – said Marco Simoncelli – Now we need to continue at this pace and take away other satisfactions before the end of the year. We are growing and I am able to be more consistent in the race, the result in Misano thrilled me but now I want to fight for the podium because I believe I have the potential to do so. In Aragon last year I didn't do badly, I like the track and so I hope to be able to have a good race. I will try to be more consistent in practice as in the first part of the season, trying to improve my position on the starting grid. It almost goes without saying that my feeling with the team is always excellent and I believe this is another positive and stimulating aspect for obtaining good results.”

His teammate Aoyama is also confident, here are his words.
“Perhaps I could have obtained a better final result in Misano but I am satisfied with having, in any case, rediscovered good confidence with the bike and having recovered a positive physical condition. From now on I feel capable of doing better and better in this final part of the season. Already in Aragon, where last year I didn't do very well, I will try to improve the result in Misano. I consider Aragon as my home circuit living in Barcelona and therefore I want to have a good race. Now we are in a position to do it and with the help of my team I am convinced we can do it. We are growing and therefore we can return to being as competitive as in the first part of the season.”
