Marc Marquez MotoGP 2017 – Marc Marquez has "closed" the halfway point of the world championship at the top of the championship standings. The reigning champion, victorious for the eighth time at the Sachsenring, has 129 points against the 124 of Maverick Vinales, the 123 of Andrea Dovizioso and the 119 of Valentino Rossi. A result that was 3 points away from 37 grand prix.

This year, however, as the classification also says, the championship is very level, also thanks to the tyres. Some have called it a "conspiracy", but Marquez doesn't have the same opinion. Here's what #93 told our Spanish colleague Manuel Pecino.

“I am convinced and I am 100% sure that there is fairplay. The tires are all black, they are drawn at random and finally every weekend there are a lot of tires and sometimes, in an entire year, but it is normal for this to be the case, some are worse than others. This is normal, it happens in all factories. I don't believe there is a conspiracy at all. Every weekend we have three front and three rear tires for all driving styles for all tastes, everyone chooses what they want, I have the utmost confidence in this sense."

Marquez was then told that Jack Miller finds the new Honda RC213V easier to ride.

“Yes, this year we have an easier bike to ride, but that doesn't mean it's a faster bike. It's easier to reach a certain time, but then setting the record is always difficult. The fact that the bike is easier to ride allows you to maintain a more constant race pace.”

The #93 has been riding a Honda since his debut in MotoGP. Here's what he had to say about his possible bike swap over the weekend.

“I always say the same. I would like to do like when I do motocross and I'm with friends. I ride a Honda, a friend brings a Yamaha, another a KTM, and then yet another a Suzuki. There are no cameras, we change them from time to time. It would be fun to do a test like this with MotoGP, but I know this will never happen. However, if I had to choose one, both Ducati and Yamaha are strong, but I would also like to try the KTM and Suzuki."

Finally a question about the possible winners of the championship.

"Vinales, Rossi and Dovizioso they have a lot of chances to win the championship. We are all very close, it is very difficult to say who will win or who will be second, but second is the first loser.”
