MotoGP Le Mans, FP3: Redding in the lead, Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Iannone and Pedrosa forced to Q1
Many big names sensationally outside the Top Ten of the combined ranking will be very heated in Q1
GP Le Mans MotoGP Free Practice 3 – The Free Practice 3 of the MotoGP class at Le Mans (stage of the French Grand Prix, fifth race of the 2017 world championship) were real "qualifying", in fact direct access to Q2 was up for grabs, given that yesterday the weather was the protagonist, with many big names including Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Danilo Petrucci outside the Top Ten of the combined free practice. This morning the track gradually dried out and in the end, although not completely dry, the riders were able to use slick tyres.
The fastest at the end of the session was Scott Redding, who took the Pramac Racing Ducati Desmosedici GP16 to the top with a time of 1:35.674. Behind him, compatriot Cal Crutchlow is 0.361s behind him, who in turn precedes Jack Miller, the fastest on Day 1.
Valentino Rossi set the fourth fastest time ahead of reigning champion Marc Marquez, but the real surprises are coming now. Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Iannone, Danilo Petrucci and Dani Pedrosa will in fact be forced to compete in Q1, given that they did not make it into the 10 of the combined FP1, FP2 and FP3.
Karel Abraham's Ducati, Pol Espargarò's KTM, Maverick Vinales' Yamaha, Loris Baz's Ducati and the other KTM, that of Bradley Smith, did better than them. Q1 will therefore be hot, with only two places to access Q2, where the pole position of the French Grand Prix will be contested.

well, Lorenzo has always been in difficulty on a damp track; then add the new motorbike...
