GP Le Mans MotoGP Free Practice 2 – Free Practice 2 of the MotoGP class at Le Mans (the venue for the French Grand Prix, fifth race of the 2017 world championship), were characterized by rain, which fell heavily before the Moto3 class and which then continued to fall unlike this morning , when ten minutes from the end the riders were able to use slick tires.

All the riders took to the track with soft compound Michelin rain tyres, on a track which we remember has recently been resurfaced and where some MotoGP riders (including the Yamaha ones) have recently tested.

In these conditions, the riding qualities of Andrea Dovizioso were highlighted, as he took the Ducati Desmosedici GP17 to the top of the time charts with a time of 1:41.673.

Behind "Dovi", trailing by just 43 thousandths, we find the reigning champion Marc Marquez, riding the Repsol Team Honda.

Excellent third time for Danilo Petrucci from Terni, aboard the Pramac Racing Ducati Desmosedici GP17. “Petrux” preceded team-mate Scott Redding, who rides the GP16 and Andrea Iannone's Suzuki, who returns to be seen in the positions that count.

The Spaniard Alvaro Bautista (Ducati GP16 Team Aspar) is fifth, ahead of the Honda of Jack Miller (fastest in FP1), the Yamaha of Maverick Vinales and the Aprilia of the British Sam Lowes, who rode the bike very well in the rain. his Aprilia RS-GP.

Closing out the Top Ten is Valentino Rossi, who, like his team-mate Vinales, doesn't have a great feeling with the new bike in the rain, at least on this day. The Pesaro rider is ahead of Aleix Espargarò's Aprilia. Further back is Jorge Lorenzo, only fifteenth with the second official Ducati of the internal team.

We remind you that currently outside the combined Top Ten of FP1 and FP2 and therefore forced to compete in Q1 in case it rains again tomorrow, there are among others Andrea Iannone, Jonas Folger, Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci and Jorge Lorenzo
