MotoGP 2022 Test Sepang KTM – Despite a difficult two days, characterized by various problems and times that did not live up to expectations. Francesco Guidotti promoted the development work carried out by KTM in Malaysia, underlining how the riders have given important feedback on the bike and the path to follow in view of the next three days of work in Indonesia, in Mandalika.

The new Team Manager of the Austrian manufacturer, at the end of the two days in Sepang, preferred to look at the glass half full, highlighting how the team is doing its utmost to make the right changes to the RC16. A positivity which on paper should push KTM to find the right countermeasures in view of the seasonal debut scheduled in Qatar, precisely in Losail, in the first half of March.

The official riders of the KTM team, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder, concluded the two-day test in Malaysia with the 15th and 18th times, while the rookies of the Tech3 team, Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner, continued a cautious approach , without thinking exclusively about time. This program led them to finish in 19th and 23rd place.

“We had a productive day and a half here in Sepang. We managed to gather a lot of information with the four official riders and the same goes for our test drivers, Dani and Mika. The team focused on aerodynamic packages and new engine specifications. There were some important elements at play. Next week we have another three days of work in Mandalika and those will be important to evolve the ideas we have about the bike, especially in view of the first official outing in Qatar. Several riders have expressed the same opinion on the bike and this is important to all find the right direction together. We hope to create the ideal combination for the first part of the season."
