Jorge Lorenzo underwent successful surgery at the General Hospital of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain last night to repair the fractured left collarbone injured in the FP2 crash at Assen.

He was operated on by Dr. Joaquin Rodriguez of the General Hospital de Catalunya, assisted by Dr. Ana Carreras, Dr. Marcos Culle and Dr. Michele Zasa of the Clinica Mobile.

“The duration of the operation was approximately two hours – said Dr. Zasa – The post-operative clinical course was regular. Jorge suffered a complex fracture of the medial third of his left clavicle. It was a difficult operation, apparently successful. We inserted a titanium plate and eight screws to fix the clavicle fragments. Jorge just woke up from anesthesia. In the next few hours we will evaluate the patient's progress and then we will be able to estimate when he will be able to start rehabilitation."
