“This result is like a victory, we suffered a lot from the lack of results and speed. The criticisms of people who didn't give us time to demonstrate that we could be competitive. This result goes to these people. I'm happy because Jerez has never been good for Ducati, while it is good for me. Now we have to work to find the same result also in the other circuits, in those where we do well – said Jorge Lorenzo – Normally when you have the pace at the weekend you know that you will have a good race. Maybe you expect more and do badly, or other times you expect less and do well, like today. I tried to manage, it was difficult to pass Zarco but he slowed down in the end. I knew that by working hard he would be able to go fast, it was a matter of kilometers. I found something, which maybe can give me something. I'm still missing something to discover, the Hondas were unmatchable, but if we keep putting in the kilometres, we can do it. The Ducati is a difficult bike that must be ridden with certain characteristics, in an illogical way. It takes time to understand. As in my entire career I always understood in the end and went strong. My goal was to be the first Ducati rider and I did it. I didn't expect to make the podium. Le ManS could be a favorable circuit as could Mugello. With some improvements we can do very well.”
