Good eighth time for Nicky Hayden at the end of the first day of free practice at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. Here the American chose to use the data collected during the tests, combined with the feedback from the latest races, obtaining a good pace in the morning. The word is up to him

“Our set-up is similar to what we had in testing, with some changes coming from the last two races. In the morning the feeling had improved and the pace was good. However, in the warmer conditions of the afternoon, I suffered a lot with a lack of grip which compromised cornering. Also, my wrist is bothering me; Between the races in Qatar and Austin he developed tendinitis, resulting in swelling in his wrist. It didn't bother me much in Austin, but here it got worse, making this weekend a real challenge for me. If we can improve in a couple of corners though, we can be much closer to the leaders.”

Well done Nicky, watching you ride seemed like you were going really fast, shame about the time trial.
Furthermore, I'm sure he used a euphemism when he said "my wrist bothers me"
