Marc Marquez regained the top spot in free practice at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, the tenth stage of the 2014 world championship, which takes place on the track made famous by the 500 Miglia.

The reigning champion in fact stopped the clock at a time of 1'32"882, going 222 thousandths ahead of our Andrea Iannone, rider of the Pramac Ducati Team and who will be part of the internal team next year. A great start to the weekend for the rider from Vasto, who wants to start the second part of the season in the best possible way.

Behind the Abruzzo rider we find Jorge Lorenzo's Yamaha, which in turn precedes another Ducati, that of Andrea Dovizioso, who pays just over half a second from the top.

Dani Pedrosa recovers compared to FP1, moving into fifth position and ahead of his team mates Stefan Bradl and the excellent Yonny Hernandez, riding the Pramac Racing GP13. Valentino Rossi finishes ninth, the fastest this morning and who stops 716 thousandths behind Marquez.

Twentieth time for Danilo Petrucci, rider of Iodaracing and riding the ART Aprilia, a company that could return to MotoGP next year, bringing forward the program to return to the Top Class by a year. Leon Camier improves by around two seconds, always closing the timesheets, but starting to take measures in the Honda RCV1000R Open of the convalescent Nicky Hayden.

Luckily Iannone in Ducati was ruining himself... ahahahahah
But where is half a second in the wrist?

Where did it go? Much, much ahead of Iannone in the championship... And tell me, what has Iannone done so far in the individual races? Forget it, today's Ducati really sucks, next year who knows, but in the meantime...

The grip in the morning must have been really bad, the Honda Productions kept the pace very well in the first three sectors, losing especially in the fourth.

This means that the GPs could not use their full power. As soon as the grip improved they started using less TC, cutting less power, braking later, going through the corners more quickly and the gap opened up.

For now the Ducatis with the Soft are able to make up for their problems and perhaps the new track layout helps them. We need to see what will happen with the more rubberized track, how much further the Hondas and Yamahas can push with the medium and hard tires, and how long those tires will last. If I understand correctly, they could choose the average for the race if the track had even better rubber and would therefore wear less.
I think the Ducatis will necessarily opt for the Medium, I don't think they can use the Soft for the race, but if it were the choice of the others too, at least from the tire point of view they would race on equal terms, with the only advantage of the 24 liters of petrol. In any case, I don't think that in the race without strange episodes and eliminations they will be able to get to the podium.

    Iannone 2nd
    Dovizioso 4th
    Hernandez (I say…Hernandez) 7th

    Rossi 9th.

    It makes an impression.

Iannone did his time with the average.

However, today there will be further improvements, new asphalt and modified track, they say that the limit has not yet been reached and perhaps only on Sunday will the best performances really be seen.

In the interview it seems to me that he says with the hard tire....if it were really with the hard tire it would be a time of equal value to that of Marquez given that he shouldn't have the advantage of the tire in this case...do you have any definitive information on the average??

      2. light said:

Medium because, if I'm not mistaken, in this race, the hardness of the Ducati corresponds to the average of the other GPs which would then be the softness cited by Vale to set his best time.

        For the rear:
those without a colored line are the Medium ones for the GPs, i.e. the Hard ones for Ducati and Open.
The ones with the white line are the soft ones, only for Ducati and Open.
Those with the red line are the Hard ones available only to GPs.

That is, assuming I'm not wrong.

Not without a line, it should be silver, with the definition of my old screen I have the impression that the line is not there.
