MotoGP Indianapolis, Free Practice 1: Lorenzo is the fastest, Dovizioso 3rd well, Rossi is 5th

MotoGP 2015 Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix FP1 – Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2015 season.

The Yamaha rider set the best time with a time of 1:33.654, preceding his compatriot and reigning champion Marc Marquez, Repsol Honda rider, by just 93 thousandths.

Ducati's weekend starts off well, with Andrea Dovizioso third at 0.217s and Andrea Iannone sixth at 0.726s. In the middle, Dani Pedrosa's Honda and the Yamaha of world championship leader Valentino Rossi, fifth.

Closing out the Top Ten are Cal Crutchlow (Honda), Pol Espargarò (Yamaha), Mike di Meglio (Ducati Open) and Maverick Vinales (Suzuki). The Ducatis of Team Pramac are in fifteenth position with the Colombian Yonny Hernandez and in seventeenth with the Terni native Danilo Petrucci.

Alvaro Bautista's Aprilia RS-GP was better than them, fourteenth, while Alex de Angelis from San Marino with the Iodaracing ART was twenty-first. Stefan Bradl on his debut on the Aprilia was twenty-second, while Toni Elias, riding the Honda Open of the injured Karel Abraham, was twenty-third.
