MotoGP Valencia GP Valencian Community Race – Pecco Bagnaia is World Champion of the 2022 MotoGP class.

The Piedmontese rider, who had a 23-point lead over Fabio Quartararo before the Valencia race, crossed the finish line of the MotoGP class Grand Prix of the Valencian Community, the 20th and final stage of the 2022 MotoGP in ninth position.

With Quartararo forced to win, a 14th place would have been enough for him, but "El Diablo" did not go beyond fourth position, handing the title into the hands of the Ducati rider from Piedmont.

After the Moto2 title won in 2018 with the Sky Racing Team, Bagnaia won the MotoGP title, bringing him back to Borgo Panigale 15 years after the only success, that of Casey Stoner.

A deserved World Championship with 7 victories (Jerez, Mugello, Assen, Silverstone, Red Bull Ring, Misano and Sepang, ed.) and 91 points recovered from Sachsenring to Fabio Quartararo.

It had been 50 years since an Italian rider had won astride an Italian motorbike; Giacomo Agostini achieved it in 1972 astride the MV Agusta. Furthermore, since 2009 an Italian rider had not won a Top Class title, then it was Valentino Rossi who won it on the Yamaha.

The race also has something romantic, the winner was Alex Rins, with Suzuki, who will retire from MotoGP today.

A victory for the Spaniard that matches the one obtained by the #42 in the Australian Grand Prix. On the podium a wild Brad Binder and Jorge Martin.

Fabio Quartararo tried in every way, but he lost too much ground at the start of the race also due to a near-contact with Miller and a contact with Bagnaia.

“El Diablo” who complimented Bagnaia at the end of the race, preceded Miguel Oliveira, Joan Mir, Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini. Ninth at the finish line as Pecco Bagnaia said.

Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Remy Gardner, Takaaki Nakagami and Fabio Di Giannantonio also scored in points.

Pol Espargarò, Marc Marquez, Jack Miller, Johann Zarco and Darryn Binder fell. Both Aprilias of Aleix Espargarò and Maverick Vinales have been retired.

The world championship ends with Bagnaia World Champion with 265 points against Quartararo's 248. Enea Bastianini, thanks to the withdrawal of Aleix Espargarò, finished third just ahead of the Aprilia rider and Jack Miller.
