MotoGP GP Valencia Press Conference – Jorge Lorenzo was also present at the press conference preceding the Valencia Grand Prix, the last stage of the 2018 MotoGP.

The Majorcan is recovering from the injury he suffered in Thailand, due to which he was forced to miss the last two races. On the occasion of his home GP, however, the Majorcan is determined to get on the track and give a good result to Ducati, the team he will leave after the race.

These are the words of Jorge Lorenzo: “I'm ready, I'll be there on Sunday, I think I'm feeling pretty good. In Sepang I wasn't ready, I wasn't in condition and I was slow. The injury has improved a lot in the last few days. Now I feel ready to try to achieve the best result. It will be an important race because an important chapter in my career will close. The rain would help not stress my wrist so I can't wait to get back on the bike. The first person I have to prove something to is me. I have always believed I could go fast with any bike. In this money it is difficult to change bikes. Every little tenth makes the difference to win. It's just a matter of time and I have shown that I am capable of fighting to win. We had a lot of fun and I would like to give the final gift to my team by having a good race.”

The Majorcan then dedicated a thought to Dani Pedrosa, who will retire after Sunday's race. An initially difficult relationship between the two which has only eased in recent years: “I have two great memories with Dani. We started together. At the beginning he was my point of reference, then we went through a difficult period between us. A bad moment was in 2008 in Jerez. I wanted to shake his hand after qualifying and he didn't want to. It was an uncomfortable situation. Then after the race, he won and I came third. The King tried to make us shake hands, we did but without looking each other in the eyes. However, I remember a nice moment 3 years ago at Sete Gibernau's house, we were having a small party, with a race with mini motorbikes. He was fast and we wanted to catch him. We talked a lot that evening, like never before. Trying to catch it I had a bad fall. When I crashed he got worried because I was fighting for the championship and in the following days he sent me messages. From that time our relationship improved a lot.”
