MotoGP GP United States Qualifying Yamaha – Maverick Vinales closed qualifying for the American Grand Prix with the second fastest time.

The Yamaha Spaniard finished behind Marc Marquez, with whom he was involved in a small "accident". The Honda rider slowed down on the opening lap, preventing the “TopGun” from completing its lap. However, the #25 would not have managed to take pole given the considerable delay.

The important thing for Vinales is to have found confidence and competitiveness astride his M1, and perhaps more importantly, to have returned to having fun astride the bike.

These are the words of Maverick Vinales: "I had a lot of fun. It was difficult, the bike was moving a lot but I'm happy. I feel good with the bike, tomorrow we have to leave and try to win the race. The most important thing is to have found the feeling, but tomorrow we have to take a step forward. I qualified on the medium, but I couldn't do well on the soft. But I think that for the race the medium is the best tire. In my opinion the pace can be on two and four. Every day I feel better, I can find more confidence, so tomorrow we can take another step forward. The Accident with Marquez? I clarified with Marc, it was a qualifying accident but it is the race direction that must decide. I don't know if there will be more severe decisions after yesterday. He had Iannone in front, so he didn't notice me."
