MotoGP | Silverstone GP Press Conference: Lorenzo, “Honda is strong but we are also competitive”

MotoGP British GP Press Conference – Jorge Lorenzo was also present at the press conference preceding the Silverstone GP, the twelfth stage of the MotoGP.

The winner of the Austrian GP is confident for the race even if the uncertain weather conditions pose a great unknown.

These are the words of Jorge Lorenzo: “A journalist pointed out to me that so far I have won the same races that Andrea won last year, it would be nice to reach 6 at the end of the season. For us it's a good moment, we come from excellent tests and I know the bike very well, better than ever before. It's a track that I really like, I've always found myself fast, even if I've had some difficulties. It will be important to have good weather conditions even if it will be difficult. The weather will be crucial, it's always complicated here, it will be difficult for it to be dry on Sunday. But we are strong on all conditions. Mixed, flag-to-flag conditions are always the most difficult. Honda is strong but we are also competitive.”

The surprise of the press conference was the connection from the space station with astronaut Drew Feustel who asked #99 what workouts and diet they follow in space

The astronaut responded. “We mainly train our legs, because here we don't use them, we move mainly with our arms. You also need to train your back to keep your circulation active. Without exercises, returning to land would be a problem. For food we eat like at camp, and we have the same things you can have, surely you will pay more attention to your diet than us. Your body must be chemically perfect. For us the important parts are the departures and exits, and everything needs to be controlled there. Metabolism doesn't work like it does on earth."
