MotoGP | Qatar GP Press Conference: Dovizioso, “Strange tests, but I'm not worried”

MotoGP Press Conference Qatar GP – Andrea Dovizioso spoke during the press conference of the Qatar Grand Prix, the opening race of the 2019 MotoGP, which will take place on Sunday at 18pm Italian time on the Losail circuit.

The Ducati rider, winner last year ahead of Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi, doesn't know exactly what to expect, because in the winter tests almost all the official riders went fast. Here's what "DesmoDovi" said on the eve of the first day of free practice.

“I don't know, the tests were strange in Malaysia but especially in Qatar. On the last day there was a lot of wind. It's difficult to analyze the level of your opponents, each rider works differently, as Marc (Marquez) said, everyone can be fast. This season can be different because everyone seems to have improved, I don't know what to expect from this race – said Andrea Dovizioso – I think we could be competitive, but if we analyze the tests it doesn't seem like it, but I'm not too worried. We have to work well over the weekend and a lot will depend on how intense the wind is. We can start with confidence but every season is different. The 2018 World Championship was strange, I made some mistakes, but towards the end we improved on tracks where we usually didn't do well. It's difficult to predict what season it will be, we don't know the true value of the opponents."
