MotoGP | GP Qatar 2 Race: Luca Marini, “I expected more”

Ducati Sky VR46 Avintia GP Qatar MotoGP 2021 Race – Luca Marini closed the Doha Grand Prix, second stage of the 2021 MotoGP, in 18th position.

The rookie of the SKY VR46 Avintia team, after a good qualifying and starting from 13th position, was unable to maintain a good pace in the race. Towards the middle of the race, the Pesaro rider began to progressively lose positions due to a problem with the front, closing out of the points.

“I expected much more from today's race: I had a good pace, but after about ten laps I started to suffer with the front tyre. The condition became increasingly difficult until 6 laps to go when I could no longer lean to the right. It's a problem that I also encountered this morning in the warm up in the center of the corner and we need to work on this aspect which strongly influenced the race. It's a shame, we could have done more."
