MotoGP | Portuguese GP Day 1, Alex Marquez: “The crash ruined our plans”

MotoGP Ducati Gresini – Alex Marquez closed the first day of free practice for the Portuguese Grand Prix, second stage of the 2024 MotoGP, with the 12th time.

The number 73 finishes seven tenths from the top, the forced return to the pits in the decisive minutes of the afternoon practice relegates it to 12th position and the first Q1 of this championship.

“The crash ruined our plans a bit and when I got back on track with the soft tire in front I didn't feel 100%, but I wasn't having a bad lap. Then I found traffic with Mir following Pecco. I managed to pass him, but I still lost time. Q1 always pays dearly, but we have everything to be competitive. At the moment we only have to think about Q1, from there we will then look at the sprint and the race, now qualifying is decisive."
