MotoGP Italian GP Mugello – During the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix, the eighth stage of the 2022 MotoGP, the retirement ceremony for Valentino Rossi's historic number 46 took place.

On the main straight of the Mugello circuit, the Pesaro rider together with Carmelo Ezpeleta performed a small ceremony to conclude an extraordinary career studded with nine World Championships, 115 victories and 235 podiums in all classes. Representing an incredible icon for the MotoGP world championship.

“The cheering and emotion here is incredible. We thank each other. The crowd here is incredible. The first lap on Sunday morning of the warm up is one of the greatest emotions. It was nice to pick up the number here. It's a shame because I could have run for another 3/4 years, but my back and knees hurt. From there I realized I was old.”
