Italian GP Mugello MotoGP 2023 Ducati – Enea Bastianini finished the sprint race of the Italian Grand Prix, sixth stage of the 2023 MotoGP, in ninth position.

Absent since the beginning of May and back on the Desmosedici GP this weekend, he only managed to qualify twelfth in this morning's Q2, thanks to a fall. During the race, the Italian driver gave his all and managed to climb up to eighth position. With two laps to go, tired and sore, Enea slipped to ninth place where he finally finished the race.

“I completed my first race of the year and got my first points and that's positive. My condition after the first 5/6 laps wasn't the best, so I had to close the throttle a bit. I was tired and had pain in my shoulder. My pace was good and I was close to the leading group but, in Arrabbiata 1 I almost lost the front and moved away from Marc. From there, I preferred to remain calm: this morning I had crashed in qualifying and for me it was important to be able to cross the finish line this afternoon. Mugello is a very physical track and tomorrow it will be even more difficult in the long race, so I will definitely have to take some painkillers. We will also have to do a check on the bike setup. Yesterday my sensations were better and with the change in conditions, today I wasn't able to push as I wanted."
