Working to improve the bike since the first session on Friday and with a race conduct that, without sparing the RS-GP, had the aim of finishing the race, Aleix Espargaró finished in the points in the GP at Misano. Fourteenth at the end, he took over two points that were missing from the Assen race and which boost morale also in view of the tests that Aprilia Racing will conduct here in Misano tomorrow and Tuesday.

Starting well, immediately in the top ten, Aleix was penalized by the brawl in the first corners which caused him to lose five or six positions. From there he began a race of great substance which led him to the best result of the last four races.

Scott Redding also had to deal with a tire choice problem and finished in twenty-first position, quite far from his Aprilia Racing Team Gresini teammate.

Here are the words of Aleix Espargarò: “The race was undoubtedly the best session of the weekend, despite the final result falling short of our objectives. I managed to be faster than in practice, reducing the gap to riders like Zarco, Petrucci and Iannone, but we still need a few tenths to be able to stay with them for the entire race distance. I gave everything, even physically because now the RS-GP is tiring when changing direction. Our weak point at the moment are corners without brakes, where the bike has to slide, while when you brake hard we are quite competitive. The tests will be fundamental, also to increase the harmony with my new crew chief."

Here are Scott Redding's impressions: "I am disappointed. Our weekend had started in the right way and I honestly thought it could be the right opportunity to show our potential. Instead things got worse, especially in the first part of the race I was very slow and had to let many riders pass. I'm in difficulty with the front tire: I can't use the hard one, it's too risky, also due to my heavier weight compared to other riders, and at the same time the medium one is too soft. I don't have the solution, we are working but we are struggling to get out of this vicious circle."
