MotoGP | Gp Misano Race: Iannone, “My goal was not to finish in eighth place”

Disappointing eighth position for Andrea Iannone in the Misano Grand Prix, the thirteenth round of this 2018 MotoGP world championship. The Italian paid dearly for an extremely disappointing qualifying and a first part of the race experienced with many difficulties, especially in terms of pace. Furthermore, an error in turn 10 did not allow him to catch up with the leading group, forcing him into a fallback position. The objective in Aragon will be to make up for this disappointing weekend, gaining important points from a championship perspective.

Here are the words of Andrea Iannone: “First of all, when you start near the back of the grid it's very difficult to recover. It wasn't easy for me to overtake, especially on the braking points, but in the end I was able to push and overtake some riders."

From mid-race onwards I managed to close on the group in front of me, but then I made a mistake in turn 10, losing time. I gave 110% and in the last three laps the tires were really worn. Eighth position is far from my goal, but in any case it's not bad. Aragón is a pretty good track for me and so I hope for a better race there.", he added.
