MotoGP Gp San Marino Ducati Race – Jorge Lorenzo ended the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix, thirteenth stage of the MotoGP, in seventeenth position after crashing while occupying second place with 5 laps to go.

The Majorcan, who started from pole, tried to dictate the pace in the early stages of the race, but first Dovizioso's overtaking, then the fight with Marquez forced him to stress the tyres, which took their toll towards the end of the race.

These are Lorenzo's words: “A shame because today we could have done well. Second position was little compared to what we did over the weekend, but the condition of the tire was not good, it was impossible to manage because the front closed every time. During the race I kept calm, I was trying to save the tire, then when Dovi passed me, I made a mistake. I had Marquez behind me pushing to try to pass me and I lost a lot of time fighting with him."

A mistake in trying to catch Dovi or break away from Marquez?

"Both. When I crashed I was defending myself from Marquez, he didn't let go of me, every lap he went faster, and when I started to push I had to take a lot of risks even though I didn't feel good with the tyres. In that braking I almost didn't overdo it at all, a maximum of one degree, but up front it was at the limit. We didn't have the weapons to fight. My pace was very similar to Dovi's. I knew that the two of them were strong and that they had pace."

In Moto2 Fenati was suspended for the next races for having voluntarily pinched Manzi's brake, the Majorcan's opinion

“What Romano did is horrible, it shouldn't be done. But Manzi, not only in this race but in others, showed himself to be a very impulsive and reckless driver, I think Romano reacted incorrectly, but Manzi is not the first time he has done this. It's my opinion. What Fenati did was incorrect, but Manzi didn't behave well either. In my opinion, suspending him for two matches is not the right sanction."

Great Lorenzo, an overtaking on Marc seen on board by panic, he is great and also has two balls a lot. He deserved second, I don't think Marc would have maintained that pace much longer and if he hadn't messed up the bike and then slipped, today we would have had a one-two.
I understand that mathematics does not condemn him, but objectively speaking, a miracle is needed, starting with a crash for Marc in the next GP, otherwise, if he really wants to leave a great image of himself, it is right to start competing favoring, or, at least, not hindering Dovizioso in overtaking and so on, making us live the dream for as long as possible. You are saying a lot of good things about Ducati, you had your chance which a damned crash ruined, now the time has come to help your teammate, or as said, not hinder him and not steal points from him, this is what I expect from Lorenzo, after all the nice words he said about Ducati, I would never want to discover that those sentences were solely the result of a reasoning aimed at obtaining the best material until the last race

    Great Dovizioso
    Great Lorenzo
    Great Ducati
