MotoGP | GP Misano 2 Day 1: Joan Mir, “Feeling in the wet ok, less so with a drier track”

MotoGP 2021 Misano GP Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Suzuki – Not an easy first day for the Suzuki riders on the Misano track, scene of the next Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. “The feeling in the wet was ok in both sessions and I felt quite competitive, even if the final position was not in line with our expectations. As the track dried out the feeling got worse, which is why it will be important to work on this situation. The speed is there, you just need to optimize the package as best as possible. Unfortunately I still don't have a direct pass to Q2, even if the time trial keeps everything in play for tomorrow. I'm not very worried. I know I have potential, we just need to find some grip in the dry."

“Unfortunately I'm out of Q2 and it's something quite strange, given that the feeling with the rear used in FP2 seemed quite good to me. As the track dried out I lost some potential, which led me not to improve my time. We have gathered a lot of information and hope to be able to make the most of it for tomorrow. Today's sessions were useful for better understanding the bike."
