MotoGP | Malaysian GP Free Practice 1: Martin immediately at the top, Bagnaia at the back

MotoGP GP Malaysia Sepang Free Practice 1 – Jorge Martin achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the MotoGP class Malaysian Grand Prix, the 18th round of the 2023 MotoGP championship scheduled for Sepang.

The Pramac team rider, who has a 13-point gap from Pecco Bagnaia in the world rankings, recorded his best lap in 1:59.513, preceding the Ducati of Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) by just 49 thousandths. Third position for the other Ducati of Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing), ahead of the Yamahas of Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo.

Sixth time for Luca Marini (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team), followed by Aleix Espargarò, the protagonist of a fall fortunately without consequences for the Aprilia rider. Eighth position for Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team). Closing the Top 10, we find the two KTMs of Team GASGAS of Pol Espargarò and Augusto Fernandez.

The World Championship leader, Pecco Bagnaia, finished in fifteenth position. The World Champion complained about difficulty stopping the bike during the session and worked with used rubber for much of the session.

The other Italians: 14th Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini), 16th Enea Bastianini (Ducati Factory). World Superbike Champion Alvaro Bautista is currently disappointing.

The wild-card Aruba.it Racing finished in penultimate position, more than three seconds behind, exactly 3.003s from the leader Martin. The rider is riding the Ducati Desmosedici #19.
