MotoGP GP Sepang – After the emotions of the Australian GP, the world championship immediately returns to the track, next stop Sepang for the Malaysian Grand Prix, 19th stage of the 2022 MotoGP.

After having recovered 105 points in the last races, Francesco Bagnaia is leading the world championship with a 14 point advantage over Fabio Quartararo. The Italian driver could close the game with one race to spare but it won't be easy.

The Ducati rider's feat is historic, no one had ever recovered so many points behind, a sign of both an excellent state of form and symbiosis with the bike, and a very disappointing end to the season on the part of Quartararo and Yamaha.

The French driver doesn't have much to complain about. He no longer seems to have "his" bike in "hand" than he does and when he tries to get something more out of it, the error occurs. Sepang is on paper a more favorable track for the Red, but the reigning World Champion will not raise the white flag.

But they won't be the only ones on the track. The other Ducatis will certainly have a say in the Malaysian weekend, as despite any team orders they are unlikely to leave the road, but the other manufacturers will also be in the game.

In Australia, somewhat surprisingly, Rins won on a Suzuki who gave an excellent Marc Marquez a hard time, perhaps not yet at the top but at a very high level, and we must not forget the Aprilias of Aleix Espargarò and Maverick Vinales, who will certainly try to play for important points. With only two races to go, it's still a world championship to be written.

Malaysian GP weather

It will be a difficult week for the MotoGP in Sepang. Rain is currently forecast for both Friday and Saturday, while Sunday should only be partly cloudy.

Info Malaysian GP

The Sepang track measures 5.5 km and has 5 left-hand corners and 10 right-hand corners. The first Malaysian Grand Prix was held in 1991, but only in 1999 with the inauguration of the Sepang International Circuit did the MotoGP championship move to what is the current track. The record of victories goes to Valentino Rossi, who with 6 wins precedes: Dani Pedrosa with 3, and Casey Stoner with 2.
